I really revile asking for money, in fact that was why I started my own dive business way back in 1996, so I could make money in the water and use the money and resources of my dive company to protect the marine environment. A marine sanctuary on the North Shore of Oahu was the end result, a miraculous success when you realise that less than 1% of Hawaii’s coastlin is protected. But with this mission it is essential to get the start up capital to do the necessary work to launch the mission. I have worked with “volunteers” on previous missions and while these missions had great power, infiltration and subversion was the killer in the end.
